Bible Study Resumes onSeptember 13

Meets the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of the month 10:30am.

Beginning in September we will study the Book of Job.

Job is one of the most-read books in the Hebrew Bible. Often assigned in secondary school and college literature classes, it is for many people the only book of the Bible they have read. Why Job? Because the story of Job is a thrilling, challenging, and compelling account of the spiritual transformation that’s possible as we find ourselves in between the falling apart of the old world and the building up of the new.

There will be six sessions using resources from the United Church of Christ.  Each participant will receive a workbook; donations of $5 per book are welcomed but not required.

To prepare an adquate number of workbooks, please sign up by calling the Church Office or adding your name to a sign up sheet at the back of the sanctuary.

11am Potluck Lunch

11:45am Bible Adventure

1:00pm On our way home

Bring a dish to share and join us for a delicious potluck lunch.  Following conversation around the tables we will join in a most excellent Bible adventure to consider the God who calls us to new beginnings.

Pastor Brad will lead us in a stimulating review of the story of Abram’s call in Genesis 12.   We’ll parse verbs, ask questions, share our insights and, perhaps, engage in a little bit of hubbub!

Sign up at Church or call the Office.  Your RSVP helps plan for adequate materials & meal arrangements.
